Allow custom dictionary files to be network & web accessible

Instead of reliance on a file path custom dictionary files should allow for an URI that is network & web accessible

Usecase is for a personalised custom dictionary stored in a remote repository and we don't really require it to always be available locally.

This should already be possible. Just specify a URL in the path instead of a file path. Can you give an example of the issue you are seeing?

Are you referring to UNC paths?

perhaps it's just the message showed about this then that needs an update, as I tbh didn't really try too hard when investigating this as have loads on my plate atm, sorry for the quick fired issue.

If it can take a proper URI then you'd have automatic support for file:// ftp:// http|s:// paths etc etc

The extension uses VSCode's files system to load files: VS Code API | File System. If it has an ftp provider, then that should work as well.
