Creation of a new Special Interest Group (SIG) at Sandbox stage
Proposed focus, intent, goals, and/or deliverables
- Open Source & Security Africa (OSS Africa) is a community-led initiative dedicated to strengthening open source collaboration and security across Africa. We aim to connect developers, maintainers, researchers, and security professionals who are passionate about building a more secure and sustainable open source ecosystem. Through community calls, working groups, training sessions, and future yearly or bi-annual conferences, OSSA provides a platform for knowledge sharing, capacity building, and collaboration across projects and regions. Our broader vision is to ensure that Africa’s growing open source community plays an active role in shaping global software security practices, contributing expertise, and fostering trust in open technologies.
